Affected Teaching
The opposition of the Pharisees (verse 34) did not stop Jesus one bit, in fact if you look at this verse, Jesus really increased His ministry along with the increase in miracles. What is a miracle to us, is a normal day’s activity for the Lord Jesus Christ because when He is on the scene, diseases and the devils must flee. Jesus not only went to the main cities but he also went to the smaller villages which teaches us that we should not neglect areas of smaller ministry because the souls in those areas are just as important as those in the big city. What I want to focus in on is the villages and cities. These are specific areas where the Lord Jesus Christ was ministering and the KJV text states that He healed every sickness and disease from “among the people.” The modern versions omit this phrase making it seem like when Jesus went into a town or city, that He healed every disease or sickness in the entire town maybe including any animal sicknesses. He healed those who came to Him in the crowds denoting the personal ministry of Jesus. His ministry was not random and universal but He specifically dealt personally with those He healed. His ministry was always among the people.
