Affected Teachings
Good news for unsaved murderers! The modern versions omit “murderers” in the line up of Galatians 5:19-21 which are a list of sins which will keep a person out of the Kingdom of God. I really had to laugh at the footnote on the NAB above where they claim a similar sounding word was added. Hello! They may be similar but they are different words. One means “envy” and the other means “murder.” If the reason that the Greek word for “murders” was omitted is because it sounded like the one for “envy” then excuse me but that is a stupid reason and makes no sense. Then again, we are dealing with the modern versions which attack the Lord Jesus Christ without any fear. Just because two words sound alike or even look alike is no reason to delete any of them. This is a very good example of the type of extremely poor scholarship which prevails in the modern versions. How could anyone trust them when their translators remove words because they sound alike or look alike? I know I am glad that the Lord has preserved His Word in the King James Bible because how could we trust any modern version which omits vital words just because they look or sound like.
