This Internet Ministry is dedicated to the lost art of true biblical study. For too long, Christians have relegated their God-given ability to do Bible study to seminary- trained people. One need only look at the doctrinal and other teachings, along with the compromises and we can see how the seminary-trained leadership has horrendously failed. We need to abolish the seminary and institute an apprenticeship program for training church leaders.

The Mission of Scion of Zion is to bring the Christian back to the realization that God has placed the Holy Spirit in every believer and He gives us the ability to interpret the Bible to His Glory.

One of the most egregious errors in the church today is its mishandling of the Word of God. This error has to do with hermeneutics. Hermeneutics is the method by which we interpret the Bible. It is normally taught in Bible college or Seminary. However, something has gone awry with the method of interpretation. 1 Cor. 2:13 states, "Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual."

This simply means that to arrive at a true biblical conclusion one must interpret Scripture with Scripture. In the realm of true biblical hermeneutics there is no place for the use of magazines, newspapers, prophecy books,and related literature. This also includes Messianic literature with its consistency of fanciful stories about the modern nation of Israel. I label them "Christian-Israel Romance Novels." See my study "The Israel of God." It is a serious thing to teach the Bible. One must make sure they are teaching it correctly.

Another reason of existence is to investigate and disassemble false teachings and theories which affect the true teachings of Scripture.

Why the Name "Scion of Zion?"

First, the word "Scion" means "a descendant or child." According to:

(Genesis 13:15 KJV)

For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

(Gen 17:7 KJV)

And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

(Gal 3:16 KJV)

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

(Gal 3:29 KJV)

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

 

Every true Christian is a descendant of Abraham and a child of God. Zion is an Old Testament term for the Body of Christ. It no way implies the modern nation of Israel. It is the Israel of God, the body of Christ!

Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
