The modern versions above speak about the word of God being written on “both sides” and “front and back.”  These are both very erroneous interpretations because if one looks at their Bible, the words of God are not written on the front and back or “both sides.”  I have to ask, both sides of what?  The scroll?  The word in the Greek as we read in the King James Bible is “biblion” where we get the word “book or Bible” from.  If you notice in the Textus Receptus and in the Hort-Westcott text, the word “Biblion” is capitalized which means it is speaking about the Word of God.  The reason it is not speaking of a scroll is the Greek word “esothen” which is also underlined above.  It carries only one meaning and that is “inside.”  A scroll has two sides and that is where the modern versions get “front and back” and “both sides.”  However, with the word “esothen” it is speaking about writing “inside” which excludes a scroll because there is no inside, just a front and back.  The only item that has writing “within or inside” is a book, not a scroll.  Rev 5:1-10 speaks about a book and verse 10 speaks about Christ making the believers Kings and Priests.

The other modern versions who substitute “scroll” for “book” are: AMP, ESV, HCSB, ISV, LEB, LB, MESSAGE, NKJV, NLT, NRSV, RSV, THE VOICE
