May 23rd vigil because Christian apostasy enables war

All was peaceful at Grace Community Church, Sunday, and the attendance was
huge, walking past the nine on Vigil within arms’ reach.
But resentment was close to the surface amid the staff. One of ours, a lady
named Helen, asked an aggressive head of security, who
only last week cuffed and detained one of ours, why he would want to make
trouble for us?
His answer, she told me, was:
“BECAUSE OF THE TERRIBLE THINGS YOU HAVE DONE TO OUR PASTOR.”

Pastor John MacArthur is more than a mega-church pastor; he is also
President of “THE MASTER’S COLLEGE,” which teaches more potential
pastors what John MacArthur wants them to think about Jesus.
MacArthur is also a celebrity icon, a guest on “Larry King Live” more than
once; and a guest to the Bush White House, there to bless
the latest Bush bombing of Iraq.
Perhaps most important, Rev. MacArthur is the editor of a study Bible that
is held under the arms of scores of attendees as they
passed by our signs, into the big “homey” church. Thousands passed by the
picket signs and a few stopped to talk and to take literature.
What does the MacArthur’s Study Bible teach? To begin with, MacArthur has
outdone all his competitors in the size of his creation. His book is 2200
pages long. Only about half of the pages are the Bible itself, and most of
the rest are MacArthur’s notes explaining what he thinks it says.
MacArthur picks up where Scofield’s Bible left off, with Genesis 12, using
the Abrahamic promise to justify Israel’s claim to the land of
Palestine. Here is how the subtle lawyer-like MacArthur puts it:
“THE PASSAGE IS THE PROMISE…OF DIVINE BLESSING AND PROTECTIONS”…”OF
CHRIST”…”LAND”…”AND A NATION.” And, “THE COVENANT IS UNCONDITIONAL IN THE
SENSE OF ITS ULTIMATE FULFILLMENT OF A KINGDOM AND SALVATION FOR ISRAEL.”

Thus, MacArthur follows Scofield (Oxford University Press’ ghost bible
writer) in making God a slumlord promoter of desert ocean frontage for the
State of Israel. Scofield was a criminal forger, and wife and child
deserter, and a man who got rich writing a Zionist-friendly bible for
neo-Christianity. What is MacArthur’s excuse?
Scofield, writing for a more biblically knowledgeable audience in 1908,
never dared to tamper with the New Testament, except in a few
subtle toe-in-the-door spots. MacArthur does so.
Paul's letter to the Galatians interprets Genesis 12:3 in stark
contradiction to Scofield’s fanciful forgery of Genesis 12:3. Paul states:
for those who put on Christ “there is neither Jew nor Greek,” “slave nor
free” “male nor female” “if you are Christ’s then you are Abrahams seed and
heirs according to the promise.” Oxford Press dared not touch this, so how
does MacArthur bend it?
MacArthur does not change Paul’s words, he simply contradicts Paul in his
footnotes. He ignores Paul’s plain statement to the effect that the only
heirs to the promise of Abraham are those who follow Christ. Here are
MacArthur’s words: “Not all physical children of Abraham are the ‘Israel of
God’” (P 1794, Gal 3, 28-30)
MacArthur concocts a change in scripture; he invents a new class of
children, a racial class of physical children of Abraham who are heirs to
his land promise by linage. He changes scripture to create a State of
Israel in the book of Galatians that Paul denied existed by virtue of a
tribe today of the “physical children of Abraham.” Paul says there is no
such thing.
Physical children who are racial heirs to God’s promise is a preposterous
stretch because no individual, say nothing of an entire
political nation, can trace a drop of blood to Abraham. There are no
“physical children” of Abraham any more than there are physical
children of Moses or of Alexander the Great! There are only false claimants
who use false lineage as a cheap land grab, and they take
God’s name in vain as a witness, and John MacArthur swears to it! He
is a false notary of God’s signature, as much a forger as was
Scofield.
What is worse, even if the political leaders of the state of Israel could
prove a drop of DNA connection to Abraham (which they can’t) Paul, John the
Baptist and Jesus himself, all clearly stated this lineage is of no account
to Christ! This is "Christian-racists."
It is also why we went to Grace Community church and why the Church does not
want us there. And it is why it did and will even resort to false witness
to try and discourage our people, men and women who are committed enough to
picket against false witness. In the future we will write a more thorough
examination of Reverend MacArthur.
We thank God for those who came and stood with us Sunday. You are brave
