Proverbs 8:21-25

Prov 8:21 (KJB)
That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.

Treasures - Treasury or storehouse

Those who live on wisdom will experience the great blessing that God will bring an abundance of spiritual treasures into their life. (2 Cor 4:7 KJV) But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. The place where we store our spiritual treasures is in our hearts, that is, our souls which is the essence of a person. If you notice, the spiritual blessings are not just a few but God promises that He will fill the treasuries. (Eph 1:3 KJV) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: Some may read this and think that if they follow the Lord, they will be filled with all the riches of the earth like Solomon. Remember the verse that we read that wisdom is more valuable than rubies. The wealth of the world is not in view but the wealth of spiritual wisdom is and we will attain great spiritual wisdom when God fills our treasuries. Just like when the tithe was brought into the store house (same word as treasures) in Malachi 3:10, God promised to open the windows of Heaven and pour out a blessing. As He fills us with spiritual wisdom, we too, receive the great blessings of wisdom which is of an eternal nature. (Col 2:3 KJV) In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:3 speaks of Christ.

Prov 8:22 (KJB)
The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

The great reason that we seek the wisdom of God is because God Himself has brought this world and the universe into existence by His wisdom. God imparts that wisdom to His children. When a person becomes saved, they will have the wisdom of God imparted to them. Even though the Wisdom of God is from eternity, it will always be fresh and up to date. We can use the Wisdom of God for every situation that we encounter, from those that are obvious to those that are questionable. When God sent the Lord Jesus Christ into this world to die for the sins of His children, He Himself, was very wisdom walking the earth. The Wisdom of God was manifest in Christ in the salvation program He came to complete. Christ revealed the wisdom that was from eternity.

Prov 8:23 (KJB)
I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

The true Wisdom of God did not begin at a certain time but was always a part of the character of God. The wisdom that God had in eternity past, He then manifested that wisdom from the beginning of the earth and universe. This also speaks of the eternal nature of Christ who existed in eternity before the creation of the world and universe and then came into the world at the appointed time. (Gal 4:4 KJV) But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, We must never believe the lie that Christ was created at the time of His earthly, virgin birth. He is from everlasting to everlasting.

Prov 8:24 (KJB)
When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.

Here we have the existence of the wisdom of God before the creation of the world and before the oceans and even before the great depths of the oceans were created. Even before the great flood of Noah, wisdom was evident in the world and after the great flood, the great depths of the oceans were formed. Some of them with great depths are the Philippine Trench at 6 ½ miles deep and the Mariannas trench at 7 miles deep.

Prov 8:25 (KJB)
Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:

(Psa 90:2 KJV) Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. Even before the mountains were planted and settled on the earth, wisdom was present. Since God is from everlasting to everlasting, so the wisdom of God is from everlasting to everlasting. Wisdom did not begin with the creation and will not end when the last day of recorded history comes and goes.
