(KJV)   And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

Affected Teaching

“forthwith Jesus” is omitted – Jesus is changed to “he”

 

The word “forthwith” carries with it the meaning of “immediate, at once, without delay, or interval.  Jesus gave a command to the devils and they immediately obeyed.  The modern versions make this a low level command by stating “he gave.”  They make it a command which could be obeyed at their leisure.
