- Mark 13:32
Christ or Satan
By Dr. Ken Matto
(Mark 13:32 KJV) But of that day and
that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven,
neither the Son, but the Father.
In April of 2008 Camping and his disciples had approached Mark 13:32 and
started teaching that the word “Son” meant the children, that is, the
unbelievers, who are the children of darkness that they will not know the
day nor hour. This great unsealing of truth has fallen by the wayside in
favor of Camping’s new interpretation.
With Camping declaring that the Son in Mark 13:32 is Satan, he has
created another blasphemy. If you notice the difference in the word Son and
son in the following verses. Mark 13:32 is capitalized because the
translators knew that this was referring to Christ. The word "son" in
John 17:12 & 2 Thess. 2:3 begin with a lower case "s" because they are
referring to Satan.
(John 17:12 KJV) While I was with them in
the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept,
and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the
scripture might be fulfilled.
(2 Th 2:3 KJV) Let no man deceive you by
any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling
away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
(Mark 13:32 KJV) But of that day and
that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven,
neither the Son, but the Father.
By Camping claiming that the Son in Mark 13:32 is Satan, he is making
God the father of Satan. This would make Christ the brother of Satan which
comes right out of the pages of Mormonism plus that makes Satan deity. Satan
is a created being and not the Son and is not deity. Satan is described as
the "son of perdition" because this is another name for him such as Lucifer,
the devil, enemy, etc.
Mark 13:32 speaks specifically of Christ because the word "Son" is in
conjunction with the Father. For example, Ken didn't know how to tune the
car but his father did.
(Mark 13:32 KJV) But of that day and
that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven,
neither the Son, but the Father.
The word “but” in the English is translated from the Greek conjunction “ei”
(ei). The conjunction does not separate the two personalities in this
passage, instead it joins them but it contrasts them in the area of the
knowledge of the second coming of Christ. This is a great mystery but it
seems that according to Acts 1:7, the Father is the one who has set the day
of Christ’s return.
(Acts 1:7 KJV) And he said unto them, It is
not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in
his own power.
Acts 1:7 states explicitly that times and seasons are in the Father’s
own power. The word “power” in this verse is “exousia” (exousia)
which carries with it the meaning of “authority.” So the return of Christ is
in the authority of the Father. Just because we cannot fully understand this
great mystery does not mean we are to try and explain it away as Camping and
the Cults do. The Jehovah’s Witnesses deny the Trinity so they explain it
away by calling the Holy Spirit a force and deny the deity of Christ thus
making Jehovah the only Deity. This is what Camping does. A year ago, “the
Son” meant the children of darkness” and today on July 25, 2009 it means
“Satan.” He will no doubt come up with another meaning before his coveted
May 21, 2011 date.
