Affected Teaching
Jesus is reiterating what he told the Pharisees in John 10:4. (John 10:4 KJV) And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. The sheep of Jesus know His voice and they follow Him. Jesus tells the Pharisees that they will not follow Him because they are not of His sheep. He repeats that in verse 26 because the Pharisees were discussing whether Christ was the Messiah since only God could open the eyes of the blind. Even though they discussed it amongst themselves, they were still not the sheep of Christ and would not follow Him. This was the second time they gathered to Him and Jesus was reminding them they would not follow Him. The modern versions make it sound like this was the first and only time Jesus told this to the Pharisees.
