Hosea 11:12

 

(KJV)   Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.

Counterfeit Versions

(AMPLIFIED VERSION) Ephraim surrounds Me with lies And the house of Israel with deceit; Judah is also unruly against God, Even against the faithful Holy One.

(NASV) Ephraim surrounds Me with lies And the house of Israel with deceit; Judah is also unruly against God, Even against the Holy One who is faithful.

(NIV) Ephraim has surrounded me with lies, Israel with deceit. And Judah is unruly against God, even against the faithful Holy One.

 

but Judah יְהוּדָה – The Tribe of Judah

yet ruleth רוּד (rudh) – The fact that they roamed against God did not negate the fact that they would rule withGod because from Judah came the Messiah.

with God, אֵל (with not against God)

and is faithful אָמַן (Faithful or reliable ones)

with the saints. קָדוֹשׁ (we’im-qfdhoshim are “holy ones”

 

Judah was set apart by God because through them came the Messiah.  There is nothing in the Masoretic text that even intimates Judah will is against God who is the faithful Holy One.  The problem is that modern versions like the NIV use outside sources like the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Targums, Samaritan Pentateuch and others and this why they come up with such mutilated translations of verses.  The rendering in the King James Bible is correct and the AMP, NASV, and the NIV are totally incorrect.
