The Progressive Revelation of Harold Camping
compared to other Cults

By Thomas Golda

"God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds" Hebrews 1:1-2

"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for THE FAITH which was ONCE DELIVERED unto THE SAINTS." Jude 1:3

"And he saith unto me, SEAL NOT the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand." Revelation 22:10

When the Bible was completed, progressive revelation ended, and no more would God use "one man" to deliver that progressive revelation.

The last person whom God used as the "one man" to deliver the final progressive revelation of God, was the apostle John:

"The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw." Revelation 1:1-2

Once the Bible was completed, no more would God use "one man" to deliver the message.....because the revelation of God is completed, and we are not to add to. All believers deliver the completed revelation of God.

However, throughout history, churches and cults have claimed that "one man" is still being used to deliver that "progressive revelation."

Below are a list of apostate churches and cults who claim that progressive revelation is still given to "one man" as they add to His Word:

1. The Roman Catholic Church, as they claim that progressive revelation is given to their "one man" the Pope.

2. The Branch Davidians - as they believed that David Koresh was the "one man" whom progressive revelation is given. The cult ended in destruction.

3. The People's Temple - as they believed that Jim Jones was the "one man" whom progressive revelation is given. The cult ended in suicide and destruction.

4. The Church of Universal & Triumphant - as they believed that Elizabeth Clare Prophet was the "one woman" whom progressive revelation is given.

5. The Watchtower - as they believed that there is a series of "one man" whom progressive revelation was given. It started with Charles Taze Russell.

6. Date setting church "Young sang Church" in South Korea - as they believed that their leader "Woo Jong-min" was the "one man" whom progressive revelation is given.

7. Heaven's Gate, UFO suicide cult, from San Diego - as they believed that their leaders Marshal Applewhite was the "one man" whom progressive revelation was given.

8. The Movement for the Restoration of the Ten Commandments of God - believed that their leader "Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh" was the "one man" who progressive revelation was given. Once their "date settings" failed, all the followers of this cult either committed suicide or were murdered by other cult members.

9. The Nation of Yahweh - They looked to their leader "Yahweh Ben Yahweh" (Hulon Mitchell Jr.) as the "one man" whom progressive revelation was given. He called himself the Son of God.

10. Family Radio & The Campingites, as they believe that their cult leader, Harold Camping, is the "one man" whom progressive revelation is given.

So, all these cults have the same qualities of believing that there is "one man" whom progressive revelation is given....and they all compete with each other trying to prove to the world that they have the "one man."

With the Bible, we can reject all these cults, as the faith was "once delivered" to the saints - Jude 1:3

(Jude 1:3 KJV) Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

The faith is final, completed, not subject to being altered by these "one man" cults of today.
Date setting annihilation cults are the most dangerous to the world.

A similar cult to the Campingites was the Movement for the Restoration of the Ten Commandments of God, out of Uganda.

"The group initially believed that the end of the world would occur on 1999-DEC-31. During 1999, members had sold their possessions, presumably in preparation for the end times when they would be transported to heaven. They slaughtered cattle and had a week-long feast. When the end did not come, Kibweteere CHANGED THE DATE to 2000-DEC-31. Later, he taught that the Virgin Mary would appear on MAR-17 and take the faithful to Heaven. Devastation would then descend upon the world and
the remaining 6 billion people in the world would be EXTERMINATED." - Religious Tolerance.org

Notice how similar this cult is to Campingism....they made date predictions, then when the date passed, made up new dates....just like Camping. And at their predicted dates, they predicted "annihilation." Many of these cults reject the idea that Christ will return visibly where all stand before Him. They all just preach one big annihilation.

Once their dates passed:

"A New York Times article reported that "The police originally suspected mass suicide by more than 300 followers found burned to death in a church in the town of Kanungu...But since then, more bodies have been found, a number with unmistakable signs of strangulation...Many [other] bodies have shown no sign of violence, leading some investigators to suspect mass poisoning. Increasingly, police are calling this an organized slaughter"
- Religious Tolerance.org

"There is a growing belief that the deaths were precipitated by failed prophecy. When the end of the world did not occur on 1999-DEC-31, some members of the sect demanded their money and possessions back. This, in turn, may have triggered the mass murders." -
Religious Tolerance.org

This cult is no different than the false date-setting annihilation cult called "Campingism."

One can only imagine how the Campingites will react, when their date-setting annihilation cult is proven wrong, either by Christ's visible return before May 21, 2011 or by their date passing.....
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall SEE THE SON OF MAN COMING in the clouds of heaven with POWER and GREAT GLORY." Matthew 24:30

"Behold, he cometh with clouds; and EVERY EYE SHALL SEE HIM, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen." Revelation 1:7

One of the secret hidden agendas of the Satanic false religion known as "Campingism," is that they want to take away the glory of Christ, and glorify their cult leader, who is Camping...

One of the absurd teachings of the hell-bound Campingites is that Christ's return is "invisible," and that every eye will NOT see Him.

Camping and his slaves identify themselves with the false religions, cults and theologians of the world, who do anything they can to make the visible return of Christ GO AWAY....as the Campingites want to make Christ's return and Christ Himself one big parable......
**********************************************************************************************

"That since the Lord did not in literal truth return on the clouds of heaven during the thirties of the first century, to expect Him thus to return in the twentieth century is to go contrary to primitive Christianity which is true Christianity.......The least inadequate myth of the goal of history is that which molds itself upon the great divine event of the past known in its concrete actuality and depicts its final issue in a form which brings time to an end and places man in eternity. The least significant myth is the Second Coming of the Lord and the Last Judgment" -
C.H. Dodd - Parables of the Kingdom

"Among the mythological elements in the New Testament which must be reinterpreted and therefore NO LONGER TAKEN LITERALLY are the following: heaven, hell, the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Second Coming of Christ, and the future day of judgment." -
Rudolph Bultmann

"The Kingdom of God comes by coming to the individual, by entering into his soul and laying hold of it. True, the Kingdom of God is the rule of God, but it is the rule of God in the hearts of individuals, it is God Himself in His power. From this point of view everything that was dramatic in the external and historical sense has vanished and gone too are all the hopes for the future," -
Adolph Van Harnack, What is Christianity?

"The world will NOT see Jesus Christ again. -
"Reasoning with the Scriptures - Page 342 - The Watchtower

"Steiner described the physical incarnation of Christ as a unique event, but predicted that Christ would reappear in the etheric, or lowest spiritual, plane beginning in the 1930s" -
Rudolf Steiner - Apocalypse of The Gospels, Milton Terry (1819), chapter 18

"In titling this work The Second Coming of Christ, I am NOT referring to a LITERAL return of Jesus to earth. He came two thousand years ago and, after imparting a universal path to God's kingdom, was crucified and resurrected; his reappearance to the masses now is not necessary for the fulfillment of his teachings. What is necessary is for the cosmic wisdom and divine perception of Jesus to speak again through each one's own experience and understanding of the infinite Christ Consciousness that was incarnate in Jesus. That will be his true Second Coming" The Second Coming of Christ -
Paramahansa Yoganands(Hinduism) - Autobiography of a Yogi

Camping and his slaves, like these false religions, want to make Christ's return and Christ Himself, one big parable...

If they make Christ's return "go away," they can make Judgment Day when all stand before Him "go away."

The Campingites want to make Christ invisible, despite Him being the visible image of the invisible God, and they want to replace Christ with Camping...

Just as the world replaces Christ with Santa Claus....

Camping is the Santa Claus for all the Campingites.....
