Birth Control?

by Dr. Ken Matto

One of Satan’s most crafty devices that he has presented to the world is the idea that birth can be controlled. Does birth control really have to do with population control or is Satan trying to lengthen his attempt to conquer God and His true church? One of the worst problems with birth control is that many Christians have bought into the idea falling for the belief that the world is over-populated and there is no more room for any more people. I think it is interesting to note that since the inception of birth control, the population has grown tremendously. Even with abortion murders taking place the population has risen. Now Satan has brought RU486 into the USA to try and reduce the population. What is he really up to? A small population would not play into his scheme of things since the more people there are, the more he can deceive and lead against the true church.

I believe in his mind he is trying to control, not the population in general, but the birth of God’s elect because Satan knows that when the last one becomes saved whom God has predestined, then the end shall come and with it his doom. So I guess he figures that if an elect person isn’t born, then they cannot become saved. God implants the eternal soul of a human being at conception plus God states in scripture that none of His elect shall perish:

(2 Pet 3:9 KJV) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

(Mat 18:14 KJV) Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

It is also interesting to note that there may soon be a societal change in the area of fundamental principle. If the pagan and reprobates continue to abort their children while Christian women bring them to term, there will be many more Christian children being raised in this society. The balance may be shifting toward an increased Christian milieu. This does not mean the world is going to become totally Christian rather it means that God is bringing forth His elect at an exponential rate preceding the soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is this that Satan wants to prevent. There might even be an increase in morality before the Lord's return. After all, isn't it interesting to note that the crime rates are down in so many areas of the country.

Not only does Satan try to attack the Kingdom of God on a major scale, he also tries to hinder the believer on an individual basis. Hindrance by Satan is always a matter of the Lord’s timing on a situation. Satan cannot do anything to a believer or hinder any work of God unless God allows him too, and when He does it is for a specific reason. Satan does not have carte blanche to do as he pleases since he is a created being and under the authority of God. Sometimes it seems to us that Satan has so much power to do as he pleases but when we read the Scriptures we realize that he is a defeated foe used of God to actually strengthen His elect rather than disable them. After Satan had attacked Job with sickness, Job proved his allegiance to God by never making any incorrect accusations against Him.

(Job 42:8 KJV) Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.

How is it with you? Has Satan frustrated you to the point that you may want to give up? When dealing with satanic hindrance, we must realize that God is in control of the entire situation. As Dr. Robert A. Cook has said on many occasions, "God didn’t bring you this far just to drop you." When obstructions to your Christian walk come in to your life, here are some realizations that we can count on.

1) Realize you are a child of the true God - God had named you before the foundation of the world, sent His Son to the cross to consummate His salvation plan, and has promised to never leave or forsake you. Do you think He will renege on all His promises and allow His Son’s sacrifice to become null and void in your life? God has invested so much in His children and then promises us a place in Heaven in which we can never be removed. Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ.

2) Realize that satanic hindrance is a growth experience - Sometimes when we hit the bleakest times in our life, they can become the greatest times of spiritual growth. Many Christians seek the mountain top experience and want to live on them believing this is where God wants us but the reality is if you look at a mountain top, you may see snow and a beautiful scene but where does the growth take place? In the valley! Have you ever seen a beautiful field of flowers at the base of a mountain or a field of Columbine in the Rockies? The most beautiful part of the mountains are the beautiful meadows which are well watered by the fresh mountain waters which descend from the summit of the great peaks. It is like the Christian life when we hit those peaks, we become well-watered with the gospel so when the lean times come we can bloom like the meadows of flowers giving off the great aroma of the gospel. (Phil 4:18 KJV) But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.

3) Realize that satanic assault brings out our true spiritual condition - Let us go back to Job and his friends. After God finally put an end to all the chatter by Job’s friends, the end of the matter was that Job, who was afflicted, was found righteous before God. His friends who were healthy, thought they had all the answers for Job but were really unbelievers and had no insight into how God deals with His children. Job endured affliction which proved his salvation. (Mat 24:13 KJV) But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Job endured the affliction brought on him by means of God’s grace undergirding him and not to attain salvation. The free will gospel states that one must endure in order to be saved but the only way a true Christian endures is because of their salvation. A Christian who faces satanic onslaught will be able to endure the trial because they are undergirded by the grace of God. If we react to satanic onslaught in an unchristian manner then God has revealed a breach in our faith. Then we can begin to work on the area of weakness which God has revealed to us. The Christian walk has been compared to a highway and it is a good comparison because potholes, flooding, excessive usage of highway, overweight vehicles, accidents, excessive cold and heat can all cause problems and hindrances for that highway to be a smooth expressway. These same things can be compared to the Christian walk as there are many potholes and other things with which we must deal with.

4) Realize that all trials have an appointed end - When I say they have an end, the end of a trial comes when God determines the end not when we think we have learned the lesson. Sometimes they last a long time and sometimes God ends them sooner. There is one thing we must never do and that is to think we can handle affliction and challenge God to send it our way. I knew such a person who came into the church I was attending some time ago. He came into the church and said to God, "Okay God send the adversity, I’m ready." God then proceeded to show him how unprepared he was for affliction. A few days later his van broke down and the person who was with him told me that he was yelling and banging the steering wheel and really acting like a child. He thought he was ready to take on affliction in his own power. When God sets up a time of testing, He also gives us the spiritual strength to endure it. The essence of suffering is the endurance of the believer as a testimony to the grace of God.

Summary
Satanic assault can be a cleansing time for the believer. We must never despise these times because they, like the good times, are ordained of the Lord for a certain purpose. When we experience the goodness of God in the middle of affliction, we will never question the faithfulness of God again.  (11/05/00)
