Is Depart Out Teaching the same as the Gospel?

The answer to this question is simple, NO! There is no such thing as any teaching which holds the same authority as the gospel. Teachings are derived from the Scriptures and are always ancillary to the Scriptures themselves. The Scriptures are in a class by themselves. The Depart Out adherents are actually equating this false teaching with the authority of the Scriptures. Harold Camping has actually said on the Open Forum, “Thus saith the Lord it is time to come out of the churches.” If the Lord said it, how come I cannot find it in Scripture? When they start howling that this is the truth of the Gospel, they really mean that this is what Harold Camping believes is truth and has told his followers what to believe.

I had an e-mail debate with a proponent of the Depart Out Teachings and since he couldn’t sway me from the truth, he actually had the spiritual pride to post that he and others are going to turn a deaf ear when we cry out. Have they elevated themselves behind Harold Camping to the point where they believe that people are going to cry out to them? Has this heresy created a class of super saints which have the authority to open and close heaven? Or do they think our salvation depends on them and this teaching? I would shutter in my steps before I would make a statement that someone is going to cry out to me and I will turn a deaf ear. Isn’t that statement a description of the Roman Catholic system of Saint mediation for the penitent ones?
